Pastor John Vereen grew up in a Roman Catholic household. While in the Army at the age of 23, the Lord was gracious to save him. The passage God used to convict him of his need of a Savior was 1 Corinthians 6:9: “Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.” From the moment he heard that text preached, John knew that he was a sinner deserving every bit of the Lord’s wrath. But by grace he was saved! Having been washed by the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit, God made him a new creation in Christ.

John married Camille in 2011— a constant reminder that he has earned favor with Yahweh (Prov 18:22). They have two children: Andrea and Evan. John went to The Master’s Seminary in Los Angeles, California, where he received his bachelor of theology. While there, John attended Grace Community Church where he served in the outreach department as a pastoral assistant. His heart for the lost and a desire to equip the saints for the mission of the church only grew. John’s chief desire: to know nothing among men but Jesus Christ and Him crucified (1 Cor 2:2).
